We had the please of detailing this stunning 2024 BMW K1600GT that came in for Paint Protection Film (PPF) and Gtechniq ceramic coatings.
We began the process with a safe wash and decontamination of the bike, which had already enjoyed over 1000 miles on the roads since it's collection in March 2024.
Like with all motorbikes, there are a lot of intricate areas to tackle on the bike, which is where our team with the correct detailing tools managed to clean in all the nooks and crannies of the bike such as fairings, up in the mud guards and engine.
Once wash and decontaminated, we brought the bike into our detailing studio to check the overall condition of the painted areas such as fairings, tank, front mud guard and pannier cases/top box. With only a small amount of light scratches/swirl marks, we gave the bike a single stage enhancement to remove the swirl marks to restore the gloss and clarity back to the beautiful paint finish.
We then proceeded to panel wipe the areas polished to ensure any polish residue was removed, before beginning the process of applying paint protection film. The templated film was applied to the headlight, fairings, front mud guard, top and sides of the fuel tank with the rear painted fairings, pannier cases also protected with paint protection film.
Once the film was applied, we went over any areas that were not included in the templated film kit with Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light and EXOv5 plus we applied Gtechniq HALO v2 to the paint protection film, giving the BMW K1600GT the ultimate protection for years to come for the customer.
We also couldn't give the carpet inside the rear top box a miss, treating it to a vacuum clean followed by stripes with Gtechniq I1 Smart Fabric applied.
We then took the bike outside to give it final checks and get some finished photos.
